Dom Fernando offers up recipes to celebrate the Sri Lankan New Year: The Guardian

“I’d recognise that anywhere,” said one of our friends when they spotted the unmistakable profile of a Netherton Foundry oak pan handle, peeking indiscreetly into Issy Crocker and Kitty Coles’s beautiful photo of Dom Fernando’s egg curry, like the petticoat’s lacy trim that, unbidden, peeks beneath a skirt hem.

In the Guardian’s Feast, (5th April 2025) Dom offers up recipes to celebrate the Sri Lankan New Year  Aluth Awurudda  (14th April 2025), drawing on Sinhalese and Tamil traditions.   And whilst he is suggesting them as food for the festivities, he also describes them as everyday favourites and we are certainly going to be trying them.

Dom’s restaurant Paradise “combines Sri-Lankan and British produce into a unique culinary experience, giving a distinctly contemporary UK nuance to Sinhalese cuisine that is not bound by tradition.
Challenging traditional expectations, " Paradise offers an ingredient focused journey with a fiery island accent - rooted in unfamiliar flavours and innovation.”  Which sounds absolutely amazing!
