PANS, FOOD BANKS & THE SHREWSBURY FOOD FESTIVAL
PANS, FOOD BANKS & THE SHREWSBURY FOOD FESTIVAL 2019
Last Friday (14/6/19), Maddy from Netherton Foundry went along meet Karen Williams from Barnabas Community Projects - Home of Shrewsbury Food Bank She took with her a small pile of our pans. We’ve given these pans to the food bank to hand out to anyone who needs them. We understand many of their clients have limited cooking choices as they don’t have the kit required to cook a meal from scratch.
Food banks are about far more than just giving out beans. They provide parcels with the essentials to keep the people who need them happy and healthy; food, personal hygiene items, as well as towels, bedding and crockery.
In Shrewsbury, Food bank PLUS is an umbrella for the delivery of a range of projects, including a scheme to help people develop the life skills required to get into work, debt advice, gardening and woodwork courses and also, of great interest to Netherton, a Health and Cookery Project.
So how can you help?
join our #PANAMNESTY.
2. Every Wednesday, go and look at the Facebook page of
Barnabas Community Projects - Home of Shrewsbury Food Bank. Here they list the foods they desperately need. Drop a donation into them at the Foodbank at Longdem Coleham or Sainsbury's , Asda or Co-op in Shrewsbury.
