Mark Diacono and his Netherton baking sheet on the pages of Good Housekeeping
Flicking through a glossy magazine is a real treat. A bit of “quality time” to be enjoyed with a cup of tea and perhaps a biscuit. Good Housekeeping magazine guarantees good content and justifies breaking out the best biscuits. But as we worked our way through the August edition, our biscuit nearly dissolved in our tea when we were distracted by the article featuring recipes from VEGETABLES by Mark Diacono and spotted this superb photo of his flamiche, baked on a Netherton Foundry heavy duty baking sheet.
Mark’s new book “features almost 100 inventive vegetarian recipes that encourage you to celebrate the seasons, switch up your diet, upgrade your sense of vitality and health and tread more lightly on the planet. From Spring Onion and Tarragon Tart and Radicchio and Chestnut Risotto to Baked Aubergines with Spiced Rosemary Cream and Stuffed Tomatoes with Coconut Rice, this book makes our most-loved veg the main event. Packed with recipes for generous lunches and hearty dinners, these crowd-pleasing dishes will leave everyone deliciously nourished, and with ‘seasonal swaps’, plus vegan and gluten-free options, you’ll never run out of mouth-watering variations to bring to the table. “
We pre-ordered our copy to ensure it arrived hot off the press and got stuck into it immediately. The aubergine recipe mentioned above was one of the first we tried, intrigued and, admittedly, sceptical about the pairing of aubergines with cream. Fear not, it’s a match made in heaven , combining to taste positively ambrosial.
Mark used Netherton cookware throughout the book and no, as he points out, we didn’t pay him. And we are absolutely thrilled that he has introduced our baking sheet to a wide and discerning audience.
