New launch for summer 2019: Outdoor cooking tripod and black iron griddle plate
As you know, we like nothing more than a bit of outdoor cooking; from the back yard, to Scout camp or the side of a mountain. And we share this passion with many others, including Genevieve Taylor, Christian Stevenson (aka DJ BBQ) and Derw and Hannah at Tan a Mwg, to name but a few.
Guided by Genevieve’s expertise, and timed, as it happens, to coincide with the launch of her new book, Charred, we have fully developed the tripod cooking kit, which we trialled last Autumn. There are a few prototypes already out there and we have tweaked the design to reflect the feedback from others and our own cooking experiences.
The die-hards among you will have been wrapping up and firing up all through the short, cold days of winter, but we are only too pleased to see the sun come out and the days to lengthen for our new outdoor cooking adventures.
Whether you’re planning brunch on the beach, a camping trip or a back garden barbecue, the tripod with either the griddle or barbecue plate will fit the bill. Just take a look at Heather Birnie’s stunning picture of Tan a Mwg’s recent event for inspiration.
Strong, sturdy and stable, words you may have heard before, but far better applied to this fabulous tripod system. Easy to erect, simple to store and perfect for cooking over an open fire.
It comes with either a solid 15” griddle plate, ideal for all kinds of cooking, but particularly good for pancakes and fried eggs OR a 15” barbecue griddle for the true smoky, barbecue flavour.
The legs are designed to come apart for easier transport and storage, so you can stow the kit in the car and just take off. The griddle plate can also be used on the hob, in the oven (conventional or wood fired) and even on the barbecue, giving you endless versatility.
So with the forecast for a long hot summer, there’s no excuse not to eat al fresco.
