Tim Hayward is at the Abergavenny Food Festival this weekend and he's given us an exclusive taster.

First of our Abergavenny interviews is with writer, broadcaster, restaurateur and unrepentant food geek, Tim Hayward, who is going to be very busy over this coming weekend. He ran us through a summary of who he will be talking to in venues around the festival. Naturally his latest book, Steak, will be on the menu and this will be accompanied by Alice Lascelles’ Martini as they chat about this iconic pairing. No doubt there will be some highly entertaining anecdotes about life as a restaurant critic when he talks to fellow reviewer Jay Rayner about Nights Out At Home, Jay’s first cookbook, in which he “reverse engineers” some of his favourite restaurant dishes in his own kitchen. And who knows what will happen when he takes to the stage with George Egg, Anarchist Cook and DIY chef! All we can say is, “expect the unexpected” and you may never look at your DIY tools in the same light again. Join Tim and us at the Abergavenny Food festival, 21st and 22nd September. You will find us in the Castle grounds – just look for our flag.
