A whistlestop tour of Wales and our Welsh stockists

Wheelbarrows and woks,  sausages, salt and sauté pans; just some of the things you can buy if you wander around Wales visiting the wonderful “siopiau” that stock a range of Netherton Foundry’s hand-made cookwares.

Head across the Grade 1 listed Menai suspension bridge, by Thomas Telford and arrive on Anglesey to visit the truly magical Halen Mon, where you can take a tour of the salt works, indulge in a wild seaweed bath and then head to their café and shop.

You can buy a pre-seasoned Netherton pan and a stunning selection of sea salt seasonings for your cooking.

Also on the island you will find Anglesey Fine Foods, founded in May 2017 when Adam gave up his corporate career in the north west going back to his farming roots and supporting Joanne. Anglesey Fine Foods is a butcher with sustainability, animal welfare and provenance is at the heart of their ethos.   And because the pan you cook it in is as important as the meat that you buy, Adam and Joanna also stock the pans to measure up to their produce.

Traditions run deep in Wales and family businesses are very much a part of the commercial landscape.  In Knighton, a cat’s whisker inside the Welsh border, you will find Prince and Pugh, described in their own words as “part of a thriving community for over 100 years. We’re the trusted old general store down the road. We are a small family run business, and pride ourselves on providing the level of customer service that used to be commonplace“

Equally steeped in history is the Aladdin’s cave of Montgomery, R.H.Bunners, run by Ann and Mary, granddaughters of the founder.  It may feel as if you are stepping back in time as you walk through the door, but this is very much a shop that has kept pace with the demands of its customers.

With a Hereford postcode, it’s easy to assume that Hay on Wye is an English town, but Carol and her team at Jones Home Hardware will set you right and serve you well.  This quirky border town, best known for its book stores and self apointed “king”, boast many independent shops and Jones Home hardware is a jewel among them.

And finally, in the heart of Abergavenny, home to the famous food festival, drop into Cooks Galley, founded in 1988 by Jonathan and Anne,

The shop is now run by their daughter Sophie who describes the shop as being full of treasures for both the absolute beginner and the seasoned professional – which is exactly how we describe our own wares.

For those of an adventurous bent, we recommend a visit to ProAdventure in the town of Llangollen, home to the historic Llangollen Steam Railway.  You will find a selection of our glamping cookware among their outdoor clothing and equipment.

TYF – To Your Future - offer an adrenalin packed choice of outdoor adventure packages, as well as the opportunity to buy some of outdoor cooking kit.  Give them a call to see what they have got in stock.

The seaside town of Aberystwyth is home to the Old Bakery Cookshop. Anita can sell you a Netherton pan and offer advice on all things cookware.

Visit the range cooker showrooms of Gas Mark One and you will also be able to buy a set of Netherton pans to complement whatever stove you have.
