In the Observer Food Monthly Nigel Slater asked a group of professional chefs “what food they call on for comfort, their go-to recipe for those moments when they need a bit of self-care, the sort that can only come from food”. And as most of us will attest, the answer always comes down to carbs, be they sweet doughnuts or a savoury spuds, something starchy always does the trick. We love the look of Tarunima Sinha’s crumpets and uttapam love butter, even the name feels like a hug, and the beautiful colours of the spice butter look sensational in the Netherton frying pan. Tarunima has a food buisness called My little Cake tin and has Instagram here.

Georgina Hayden’s book, Nistisima is already much loved and besplattered in the Netherton kitchen.  Her writing evokes the sunshine of her Cypriot heritage and her recipe for Strapatsada can easily be adapted to suit which ever vegetables are in season. Romas Foord has once again captured an amazing image in a Netherton prospector pan.
